I have seen 3 big ships at once.
We where at a waiting station 2.5km away from an us carrier group (restricted to go closer then 2.5km).
The carrier. And a destroyer alongside.
Whilst the cruiser was replenished behind it.
On the same momentum the supply ship used helicopters to supply the carrier for different goods.
It is an mightly look on what can be done. I enjoyed it through the magnifiers.
Might have pictures somewhere of this.
Will look when i find my hdd haha (New house)

Also. The cgi cant be real as well.
There is an maximum angle of aproach for the jackstays.
And replenishing from the front of the supplied ship doesnt go from the side.
There is an refueling pod at the forward station...

But hey its fanmade haha

Id' love to see pictures of it....have never heard of UNREP by US like that with the ones alongside and the one behind the AOR all being UNREP'd simultaneously.

When and where was this? Which carrier? Man if you have pics of that I would love to see it
.
I am personally not aware of the US Navy replenishing, underway, any more than two. Never seen or heard of one on each side and another to the rear of the AOR simultaneously.

Now, I am aware of side by side UNREP/RAS going on while a cruiser held station to the rear...like this:

Are you sure this want not what you saw?

I have also certainly seen and heard of VREP going on at the same time...but that is is not what we are talking about.

Popeye, in your 20 years aboard US carriers, did you ever see UNREP on each side of the AOR with UNREP going on behind the AOR at the same time?

Kwaig, in your years n US Navy carriers did you ever see it?

It would be a cool thing to see.

Well now you show it to me like that. Might have been on .... forgot the name.
The ship is there for when a transfer of personell goes wrong or someone falls overboard and picks them up.

We where behind the USN fleet and through the goggles i wasnt able to spot if it was actually refueling.
I was only told however by one of the comms petty officers.

Might be 2 and flight ras then.

I have served on the Hnlms Amsterdam though. And seen it has done RAS to ships behind it on heavy seas.
Will it be unable for the us aux fleet? Not enough personell onboard? Haha

Type 904B ship
Okay, the way I see it now, the PLAN has the following large replenishment and stores ships:

Large Replenishment AORs:

First, the Replenishment AORs. They are Type 903, Type 903A and now the new, large Type 901:

Type 903:
886 - Active in 2004
887 - Active in 2004

Type 003A:
889 - Active in 2013
890 - Active in 2013
960 - Commissioned in 2015
966 - Commissioned in 2015
963 - Launched in 2015
New - Building

Type 901:
New, - Launched in 2015

That's a total of nine AORs, with six in service, and two launched, and one building

Large Stores Ships:

Second, the large stores ships. They are Type 094, Type 904A, and Type 904B are the classes:

Type 904:
883 - Active in 1992
884 - Active in 1992

Type 904A:
888 - Active in 2007

Type 904B:
961 - Launched and commissioned in 2015
962 - Launched in 2015

That's a total of five large stores ships, with four active and one launched and outfitting.

Altogether, in terms of large replenishment and stores ships, the PLAN has a total of fourteen now, with ten in service, three more launched, and another building.

No, I've never seen 3 simultaneous unrep. Maybe with smaller vessels yes but no way with a carrier alongside and 2 other ships. That's taking unnecessary risk. Maybe in times of war but not during peacetime.

I do not know it to be the case...but I have to believe (as I said above) that this is probably what he saw:

Good news. The recently launched type 901 replenishment ship is a 55 000 ton whopper. Not sure of the number of transfer stations yet.
