This reminds me of IIRC a bulk carrier ordered many years ago by the World Wide Clockwork Shipping Company. But the bulk carrier was diesel powered.In the future, once IEPS and electrical storage technology become sufficiently advanced, big replenishment ships should be nuclear powered.
Then they can plug into other ships of the fleet and charge them directly from the reactor.
