Golly gee Wally..Wadda think is in those crates? I don't know Bev..but ya' better not mess with it..:) Anybody familar with old US Tv will understand that.

I know what's in those crates..Hundreds and hundres of slot machines! And a crap table or two!..Roulette anyone?

What did they take those pictures with? One of those disposal cameras???? Man they are fuzzy.

Unless Superman is standing by we can only speculate what is in those crates.

Are there any pics of those crates actually being lifited on the Varyag? If so please post a link. I would be much intrested in seeing that. Otherwise it's anyones best guess.

Afterall as far as the Varyag is concerned that's what we do..isn't it???

Re: Video of how SU-33 could work off of a PLAN carrier

I can agree on those statements the day I see a Su-33UB or even a Su-33 taking off from the ski-jump with a decent amount of missiles, especially the promised airlaunched version of the Moskit, receiving the temporary NATO reporting name AS-X-22 Krypton. I doubt it will be do-able without catapults.

Exactly.

It seems that these pics could have been taken in any Chinese Harbour, but I honestly have no clue.

@Dalian experts: Is there any landmarks that actually prove this has been taken in the Varyag area?

From what I read on Chinese Forums, they claimed that this was going to be used to build a new naval ship, probably a new DDG or FFG; but Varyag was mentioned in there too
For all we know there could be anything in there... could even be the next shipment to Wal-mart

Hey... they got any of those cheap DVD players in there? Mine's busted!:)

Hey we all have the same point. Without Superman present wherever that pic was taken we have no Idea what in those crates. Hells bells..They could have been lifting those crates off of a ship!! Not loading them on the Varyag.

Hey Superman how about cruising over to the PRC and seeing what's goin' on with that old Varyag? Gimme a call. OK?!

Hey we have the same chance of that happening as finding out the truth.:(

Ok back to topic, one thing is certian; those trucks are not normal commerical ones, unless the white thing is for a bridge support that 14 wheeler is probably heading toward some shipyard in China..
Don't rule out Dalian yet... although my mind is telling me thats the support for a bridge; why else would it be all white and have small squares and circles that fit like a lego block... unless it's all lead and there's a nuke plant in there or something radioactive...

Re: Video of how SU-33 could work off of a PLAN carrier

The Moskit hanging under the Su-33 is pure airshow BS. The Russians have been rightly criticized for it and from that time on, they only show missiles hanging on planes that actually support the missiles or intend to.

As far as the Moskit, it is far too heavy (4100kg) for the Su-33 to take off, but the weight of such is not indicative of the average AshM today. The Su-33 lacked a radar that has a sea search and target capability that can be used to lock on to ship targets; the radar is a mere navalized N001, which is basically an air to air radar.

Most AshMs weigh around 700kg roughly, because I am assuming this based on the Kh-31A China has acquired and the YJ-83 China uses on its JH-7As. Four of these missiles will not not reach the same weight as a single air launched Moskit, which no country has ordered.

By the way, your facts are off. The Moskit does not have the NATO reporting name of Krypton. The name is Sunburn. The Kh-31A/P are the ones called Krypton. Both missiles are standard and operational equipment on Chinese Su-30MKKs and MK2s. It won't be a stretch to have the required avionics applied on the Su-33. Another AshM, the 450kg Kh-35 Switchblade is smaller still.

The older Su-33s use a slightly overtuned AL-31F. The new ones KnAAPO is trying to sell will use the more powerful -F3 engines. Let us factor that the Su-33KUB introduced in 1999 has revised wings and lifting surfaces for greater lift than the original Su-33.

Ok,Ok the jokes are over.:D

Actually as I said we don't have a clue what's in those crates. I had a hard time really discerning what types of crates those are. The pics are fuzzy. My 52 year old eyes just see somewhat fuzzy pics..:(

Those big trucks look like the type to haul speical loads..If we only really knew.

Re: Latest Varyag Pics

I don't know if this is new or old... (most likely old because Varyag was last seen at dry dock)

Not much info there. I did get this

[email protected]

That's their email address...Oh yea I'm gonna email them. Right now.

I sent them this email..no joke. All they can say is no.

""Hi there! Could you please release some recent pictures of the old rusty ex-Russian aircraft carrier(Varyag) you have had in your shipyard for the last nearly 4 years?

By recent I mean 1 month or less old. No old pics from the Ukraine or Turkey please.

Thanks!""
