Very god pics of the 51Cs, but just not much detail of the Varyag, although you can see it there. But June 25 is now the most recent pics of any part of the Varyag that I have seen. Thanks again.

Here's a full aft shot that I had not seen yet. It looks older than the shots showing the non-skid primer, because I do not see it on there yet...althoug, it could concievably be a shot after the primer was painted over, which woul;d make it fairly new.

Either way, it is a nice shot of the entire carrier from the aft side after it came out of dry dock painted in the PLAN colors.

Yes, that's it. I have fixed the post now and it should show up (dang fumble finger tyos!). Anyhow, I believe it is a shot before the zinc chromate primer...but it is still a good shot of the aft end of the thing, and it is relatively new.

I dont know if this is a new picture, but here it is anyways. I would resize but I'm not good with resizing. Note the 051C at the upper left.

That looks to me to be the same basic time frame as the aft shot I posted in post number 650. I am still not sure whether these pictures are before or after the earlier pics on this thread where we saw the non-skid primer, the zinc chromate. Any ideas?

Thank you...that's a good comparison and I agree. There seems to have been quite a bit of work on the deck throughout this year, including laying down the zinc Chromate non-skid surface primer and then covering it and then another new coat of paint all the way up the ski jump. I am still waiting to see that Island painted and then start seeing some instrumentation, antennae, etc. placed on the island. I believe, ultimately that is coming.

didn't they will make the installation of antennas etc. before painting?

I wonder, that the yard didn't paint the Island the same time as the hull - it makes sense, when they have to prepar the installations of antennas before painting, which is the normal succesion as we have seen by the new DDGs.
