PLAN Carrier Construction

Nothing new that I can see. The caption just says what everybody thought is a section of the new carrier is actually just a piece of a new museum for the shipyard. not sure that's the whole truth.

If that is true, then a lot of people in this forum were so fooled by it. In fact, this whole thread was opened by it.

Interesting.

The first pic I saw though was not of these members standing out there alone like this.

It was a ship that was under construction at the time, with what looked like an island and flat deck and that looked to have a similar cross section as these members up towards the bow.

That first picture is what stirred my interest. This pic was just noticed in the same yard forward of that ship.

Here's the analysis I did of it at the time:

I always thought it was going to be an LPH if anything. But, is that ship part of the museum too then? What has become of that ship, I wonder?

I'm totally confused now! Are people suggesting the shipyard is making a musuem or making a ship to be stored in a musuem? huh?

jeff, i think that this picture is misleading. it doesnt match the GE photo, nor the close-up photo. I dont there was ever a ship ressembling a carrier. Most probably, its optics illusion together with the fact that its a blurry photo.

If it is confirmed that this is a module just for a theme park, i wonder if the thread will be closed.

Why close the thread? The Chinese media has already stated that an insulation company has been selected for a large CV project in Jiangnan, and another military insider stated that a CV is being built at Dalian; there is plenty of evidence from both the news and insiders to suggest that an aircraft carrier project is alive and well, and possibly underway.

Yeah we all were under the impression this module is a demonstration module... Unless someone can give a word for word translation of that article, that is (which may or may not be credible)

Anyway there's no need for this thread to be closed, the mere suggestion means that people assume there are no behind the scenes machinations for the indigenous carrier project currently ongoing.

Edit: oh god the picture is from sina military news... Why are we taking that seriously again? All that site is good for is belching out random photos.

It's a model first to showcase their ability and than afterward, probably will become a museum piece for curious onlookers to pay and see. The shipyard company just didn't want to waste it, so probably decided to get some of their investment back is my guess.

The captions didn't seem very far fetched. It's silly to assume that just because that one module most of us thought couldn't be an actual carrier module anyways was proven to be a display that there aren't carrier construction plans going on.
