Found this not long ago. CCTV's report that Ka-28 from 168 went and chased away pirates as theyre were trying to attack a Greek ship.

Was it a peaceful standoff or were any shots fired? Also good to see the PLANs first encounter with the the pirates ended successfully

They should've put some door MGs on those Ka-28s.

I think you posted your post quite late at night and didn't have enough coffee. Semi-Lobster didn't post that video, he just asked if there was some fires during the engagement.

They should've put some door MGs on those Ka-28s.

dont remember seeing Chinese choppers with door MGs...ever. maybe they simply dont have enough choppers to spare for that kind of stuff

Well from the video its hard to tell. He could be carrying a QBZ-95 or a QBB-95 but either way they weren't mounted on anything

A helicopter unloads supplies onto the deck of Chinese destroyer Wuhan sailing in the Gulf of Aden, on Jan. 31, 2009.

The destroyer Wuhan sent a helicopter to fetch supplies from a Chinese merchant ship Xin Fei Zhou on Saturday, which was the first vertical replenishment (VERTREP) done by the Chinese naval fleet since it began its escort mission against pirates on Jan. 6, 2009.
