That target is a wee bit close for a 50 cal don't you think? You should be able to hit that easily with even an SMG or good pistol. They should float sth a mile or two out and than try hitting it. Then you can color me impressed.

If it were static and/or a controlled shoot, then absolutely. But in some of those pics it looks to be near 100 yards back (less in others), and with the wave action on the target and on the ship itself (ie. both are moving out of reference to one another), it is not too bad of an exercise.

That's the M99, 12.7mm anti-materiel rifle. It should be noted that this isn't the one officially adopted weapon of its class, the official one calls QBU-10, with 2 types of munitions specially designed for it. So far, the QBU-10 has yet been taken out to play, the M99 has been with several taskforce now, most probably for the PLAN (or PLA in general) to explore the operational potential of such large caliber infantry weapon.
