It was reported by CCTV that Liaoning has many female Uighur and Kazakh sailors (communication operators). It's a common practice all over China, such as Colleges in Beijing.I like that they have a dedicated Muslim mess deck as well, probably for Halal foods.
Given China does have a not insubstantial Muslim population especially in the Hui ethnic group, and the Navy and Liaoning itself likely has a good number of Muslim sailors as well so it's important to respect those aspects of their culture and religion when possible.

I Just saw a group of photos of CV-16.
Was the ship in Malaysia? If so where were are the aircraft? In the hangar? Or perhaps they did not make the trip. Thank you.
