I don't doubt the ships ability to repair aircrafts. It would be pretty incompetent if they don't already setup such team to do the task.
I'm not at all sure what they can do aircraft maintenance wise aboard CV-16.. I've never seen a single photo of a PLAN soldier working on an aircraft or aircraft component aboard CV-16..not one. Turning a wrench we use to say. Now that's not to say it does not happen but I've not seen this...ever..

Ronald Reagan and its embarked air wing, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5, provide a combat-ready force that protects the collective maritime interests of its allies and partners in the Indo-Asia-Pacific Region. RED SEA (Nov. 5, 2015) Marines attached to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) download a JDAM 500lb guided bomb from an AV-8B Harrier on the flight deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Kearsarge (LHD 3). Can the PLAN do these operations? Probably..but I've NEVER seen it. Have any of you?......and YES I've made this sort of post previously.
