PLA Strategy in a Taiwan Contingency

I don't think it's something to worry about purely from an Anti-access/area denial perspective. You could strap all the drones and robotic dogs with explosives and have them automatically patrol/standby in that area, forgoing civilian identification, or even enemy identification. Instead, set them to self-detonate “on anything that moves”. Civilians would be largely absent from such places. Of course, there would be losses against decoys, and that's something to consider.

Isn't that basically mines? I guess they'd be easier to retrieve afterwards?

If we're talking about urban combat, wouldn't the entire point of using robodogs be to minimize collateral damage?
That's a different requirement for different scenarios
Otherwise, why not just flatten the target with artillery? Why would you need guided shells for stationary targets like buildings?
Because CEP for unguided artillery shells are horrible?
What's the remote control range of a robo dog? Unlike a flying drone, the signal would have to go through a lot of obstacles.
Not a big problem. Your cellphone reception is fine in downtown, yes? Worst comes to worst, use fibreoptics like the latest drones in Ukraine War.

Taiwanese have to use lewd videos to attract new soldiers.
They are just copying daddy US, who use "e-girls" on TikTok for recruiting

Guess they didn't ban that government use!

How about a robot dog on wheels? I've heard of a tactic in the Middle East where, due to the mostly mountainous terrain, they pack tons of explosives in a car and have it charge all the way down a hill, basically unstoppable, and usually horribly powerful. I've seen off-road videos of the unitree B2-W and feel its very promising. Taiwan itself has tons of mountainous terrain.
Lol, robot dog on wheels? Why not just make a remote control golf cart/ATV with a big bomb strapped to it? It's basically the same as the suicide bomber trucks they used to use (before drones became cheaper).

Still a solution without a problem.
You don't need GPS guided shells, if you are in range for fibre optic guidance, you can easily use cheaper laser guided shells and still be safer. They are also cheaper than the Unitree B2.

In what scenario do you need to a) take out a target, b) can't level the building, but also c) not need positive identification of a target?
Basically a and c cannot coexist.

Seriously, if you use either of these, carrying them is difficult on its own, not to mention the noise they make when carrying them. A robot dog avoids both of these problems. What's more, it can basically move over all terrain for a much wider range of applications, and I'm only talking about one particular case here.

Oh nuts, KMT froze the funding for the submarine program.
This is actually kind of bad because I'm pretty sure PLA would prefer ROC spend defence budget on white elephants like those submarines. If they actually spend that money in pragmatic ways it would cause more trouble for PLA.

What's KMT's angle in this? I don't think they're working on improving their United Front values because that's very unlike of them. I also find it hard to believe they're doing this for fiscal responsibility.

Pure partisan politics? Like preventing DPP from working their way into previously KMT dominated miliary with money?
