Interesting photos from a who got his hands on a T03A rifle, which is an export/civilian variant of the QBZ-03. Note the quadrail and new upper.
This is what the QBZ-03 should've been rather than the 80s-era setup that it has today (at least in the PLA/PAP).
There seems to have been a QBZ-03 upgrade with similar quadrail setup & overall configuration but I'm not sure if it's related to the newer T03 variant. I also don't see it very much being used by the PLA/PAP.

Seems like the CS/LR17 is still being marketed. Any chance or indication of any police units or low-level military formations adopting this rifle?More from Zhuhai. The placards are legible.
