8.6mm is a caliber It conforms to .338. In an example .338 Lupua Magnum is Ocassionally designated as 8.6x70mm However the length of that magazine may mean a shorter Cartridge length perhaps .338 Ruger Compact Magnum.
How did the Chinese military get its hands on Aimpoint red dots? Or is this a knockoff?
First you can't see the Aimpoint logo then it ain't Aimpoint product, although the PAP or police SWAT still manage to buy imports because they're "Law Enforcement Agencies", so it could also be PS'ed.How did the Chinese military get its hands on Aimpoint red dots? Or is this a knockoff?
This is either an Aimpoint T1 or H1 or an Aimpoint knockoff. If it is an Aimpoint T1/H1, then you may not see any logo at all, only small text on the bottom left-hand side, such as the red dot shown in the previous photo which unfortunately is too small to read.First you can't see the Aimpoint logo then it ain't Aimpoint product, although the PAP or police SWAT still manage to buy imports because they're "Law Enforcement Agencies", so it could also be PS'ed.
On the other hand, there're Aimpoint analogue from makers like Holosun (their products are MIC, as far as I remember), and they ain't those kind that only good at sitting pretty on airsoft toys...it could be those as well.
A possible QBZ03 Mod, The barrel cut down and a modified stock. With and Acog style scope
The Rail is only a partial not as extended as some of the CS/RL14 prototypes nor AK12 it seems to end short of the full upper. The handguard does seem changed some what but what that means?? Without more detailed images hard to say. Some makers Especially European makers prefer to partial rails on the top Short rails on the sides and bottom. The Stock has changed a little It seems the same shape but where the old one had an opening this one seems closed. The back end doesn't look that much different from qbz-03 but the hand-guard look different and obviously the stock is different. Do you think it went the "ak-12" route. with the stock, hand-guard and the top picatinny rail?

The AK12 is a more extensive redesign for the basic Kalashnikov system. It took the basic Operatings system Then re mounted the sights and Safety more in line with the IWI Gaili It added a reversable charging handle and Dust cover borrowed from the Beretta ARX 160 and a full Rail system.
Some of these changes The Safety selector and dust cover were already on the Type 81 Rifle. So this is not an AK12-ed QBZ03.
Hopefully this is just the ballestic testrig get dressed up for the exhibition (pictures were said to be taken at the trade exhibition in Beijing this year), because when compare with CS/LR4, this is a major regress in terms of design sense, among other things.Oh and I dug this up:
