I've heard that those arms manufacturing consortums all have real estate business as part of the portfolio, and in terms of display that was as improptu as it gets...From the Weibo post, it seems that the rifle first appeared at a real estate exhibition, which is undoubtedly an unusual venue to unveil new guns.
Of note, the purported manufacturer of the HR31, Sichuan Hua Qing Machinery Co., is also the producer of the CS/LM12.
