Somehow I feel so weird seeing PLA soldiers inside Hummers. It's like seeing a American black man waving a red starred flag with his head poling out of a T-72.

Kinda funny, if there's another major conflict in the Korean peninsula and both China and US were dragged in. How would they know if this hummer is an ally or enemy??

First those are not Hummer or Hamvvee, modern tier 1 MBTs may have a tendency to look the same, but people knows this tank is different from that tank, M1A2 is differ from Leo2A6... so dose the off-road general purpose utility vehicle (... and MARAP in that matter),
they look alike, they are not the same.

Second I think we are safe to assume there is an un-fair-play here, where Chinese soldiers are trained to differenciate their own MENG SHI from USA's Hummer like "an apple a day, keep the doctor away" kind of requirements, while the GI Joes may enjoy the feeling of "all off-roaders are Hummer, nothing else!" thus not well informed of the exist of "Chinese counterfeit" - And that is an un-fair-play I have no problem with, in your scenario of peninsula crisis.

OK, a trick I uses to differ the two: Pay attention to the headlights, if you are not able to read the Chinese brand name and the logo on the bumper.

Breakthrough in terminal-sensitive projectile

China has made breakthrough in the development of terminal-sensitive projectiles. At present China has established a system for the design, analysis, imitation, test and evaluation of terminal sensitive projectiles.

Terminal-sensitive projectile is also called sensor-detonated projectile. The intelligent shell can detect the targets and turn the warhead toward them when it explodes, said Wang Huaijun, director at a weapon test center.

Terminal-sensitive projectile is a kind of cluster bomb which contains a large number of smaller bombs and is very disruptive. It can be launched by cannons, long-range rockets or aircraft, and can automatically detect and recognize the targets and make accurate attacks, though it cannot continuously track the targets.

Known as a promising anti-tank weapon, terminal-sensitive projectile is characterized by its large attack range, high accuracy and outstanding damage effect. Besides, it is very economic thanks to its simple structure.

The terminal-sensitive projectile has a good operational performance and is finalized after it approving a series of tests on high and low temperature storage, firing range and accuracy carried out by the weapon test center during one year, said the director.

Not true. Not true at all. The US Army and Marines do train their troops in field recognition of opposing forces equipment.

new rifle

Nice, we have seen part of this rifle before, but this is the first time we have managed to get a good look at the layout, and it is very similar to the OICW, with a conventional assault rifle and a overslung bullpump automatic grenade launcher with an integrated site and onboard computer system.

The grenade launcher is far more compact compared to the OICW, which is a big plus. The sights and onboard computer seems more compact as well, but that may just be because they have separated it into two units instead of trying to have both incorporated into the sight as the OICW.

This looks like screencaps from a CCTV programme, so hopefully the full video and at least more/better images should be forthcoming soon.

looks heavy and expensive. Do you think they'll arm complete squads with this weapon?

Yeah that was from one of their short military programmes, talking about the firearms testing center I believe, and this weapon happened to be featured. Apparently in the programme the narrator also mentioned this OICW like gun was being fielded by forces patrolling somalia already.

It seems to look more compact partly because the magazine clip for grenades is not there. Maybe they decided that manually loading them is sufficient.

Do you guys think there would be potential to play network-centric with this toy, what with the beidou entering into operation you can have indirect fire with spotters and firers in different positions.
