I am guessing that's a Joke as I happen too have a of them with E-tools. However It seems too me that this was likely a dedicated unit It you look you can also see in the fifth picture of post 781 what looks too be a metal detector it's likely they felt a real shovel was better for the task they were assigned which looks too be mine work.

Now on too the Gee wiz!

First thoughts. That helmet must weigh a ton! and it looks pretty poor on suspension.
Although I like that they have started working there equipment around the helmet this guy looks almost like my Avatar with all those wires! perfect for getting grabbed pulled and damaged in the field.

That vest looks Like they stole it form Richard Dean Anderson's closet... Correction not just the vest the whole uniform looks like a Stargate SG1 costume.
That said It also looks like it has full Molle compliance. But is not As far as I can see Any type of body armor looks like they intent too keep with load vests.

On the advertizement image There is a Eotech sight shown on the Type 95 carbine mounted ahead of the what looks too be a thermal optic.

Obviously you have never carried a 50 pound rucksack on your back and a sling rifle and run for 6 miles on a gravel road with boots on and when it's time to sleep or when nature calls, what tool do you rely on for digging and making your bed on the ground. It's not about the politics of the E-tool it's the convenience and easy to carry equipment every soldier would love even the PLA (I'm sure they could make their own version of it).
