Re: Chinese military photos

Popeye. I think you just answered your own question. I am pretty sure they don't need that many people to launch a helo and they do have pretty good ear protections. However, this is a staged photo-shoot, so logically, people wants to get into the shot and look nice, thus explaining why so many people standing around with clean looking cloth and no proper hearing protection.

Re: Chinese military photos

The other day we saw the marine corps on the Guangzhou equipped with the type-56 carbines. Today we see it them with the type-95 rifles. I wonder why the Chinese marine corps are equipped with two type of different caliber weapon at the same time?

SteelBird. Sorry I do not have an answer to your question. Perhaps they use a variety of weapons depending on the mission.

Police search a visitors' bag near Tiananmen Square during the National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing on March 9, 2009. Security is normally tight during China' s annual parliamentary meeting but the atmosphere is especially tense this year amid mounting social tensions due to an economic slowdown that has thrown millions of people out of work.

Re: Chinese military photos

can anyone tell me what kind of gun is the paramilitary holding?

All I know the soldier on the left is holding some sort of shotgun. It looks "sawed offed". I have no idea what the others are holding.
