AFVs have grown stupidly stagnant; ZTQ-15 is fresh by modern standards, but not, say CW ones, and even less by actual automotive industry ones. Maybe it's the way how it should be.

The optical system installed under the RWS is most definitely a hard-killing laser system. Perhaps similar to the 10kw one installed on armored jeeps. Installing similar systems to all AFVs will be both affordable and also sufficient in numbers to disable all but the largest drone swarming attacks.

Why a laser and not an E/O turret? It looks nothing like the 10kw system on the Mengshis, nor is it particularly similar to the laser dazzler on the 99As.
Vertical and horizontal? The caliber seems to be different. The quad mount missile seems to be a small caliber.

The laser dazzlers are completely different from DEW, but it looks similar to this US system.
There is also no reason why it can't be a EO ball with an integrated DEW since they usually need their own targeting sensors.
If its a E/O turret then it's a bit strange for all sorts of vehicles to use the same exact turret.

The most baseline assumption would be they're for CITVs -- standard optics.
The idea of it being some exotic shared CITV mount with a DEW is a bit much, and the fact they look the same/similar can just be explained by sharing the same sensors/sensor housing for purposes of standardization and proliferating high end capabilities and achieving economies of scale.

If these are vehicles of the same family, sharing sensors -- if not at least in housings, then perhaps even in sensors themselves -- makes some sense
There is no basis to assume that... Considering these vehicles require a CITV/EO sensor as a more basic key subsystem, if that was a DEW laser then they'd lack a CITV which would just not really make sense.
