They don’t celebrate Christmas in Mainland China. They do celebrate New Year’s Day but I don’t think they take the day off.
It really depends on the class of people and city they lived in. I used to be hoping for Christmas gifts while falling sleeping at every Christmas eve since I was a kid, even though none of my family members were christian. It's also common for young urban couples to date at Christmas since there's no moral obligation to visit family elders since it's not a Chinese holiday, yet still a date important during (part of) our generations grown up.

Edit: Oh I didn't realize it's about day off lmao, no Christmas day off in China, some private company might do it but definitely not CAC.

CAIG’s alleged design very much =/= SAC’s alleged design. They seem to have very different requirements.

Maybe, just maybe, what we are actually looking at is:

1. J-XD(H) from SAC - a 6th gen two engined fighter with some A2G capability, in CATOBAR and CTOL variants.

2. JH-XX from CAIG - a 6th gen three engined fighter bomber, this is what has become of the JH-XX program we’ve all heard so much about (and that the Pentagon repeatedly says is still a thing). As we’ve always discussed with JH-XX, A2A (in addition to A2G) capability is expected.

and to cap it all off…

3. H-20 from XAC - a 6th gen VLO strategic bomber (if NG get to classify the Raider as “6th gen”, then same goes for “heavy water”), which the Pentagon, PLAAF and AVIC all say is in development.

If I were an exec from LM, NG and (maybe) Boeing, I’d try to accidentally drop a USB with 100K bitcoin and all R&D from the last 35 years in front of AVIC’s offices. If the PLA manage to develop and procure all 3, then the US defence budget is going straight to 2 trillion! :p
Not questioning you but do you have a source for your info?

It makes logical sense that SAC design would include a naval variant, which means it will have to be twin engine. although I am not sure that there would be any more A2G emphasis than previous generations. PLAN carrier doctrine does not ask for potent A2G capability.

Also unsure the concept of JH-XX. JH implies an FB-22 esque approach, which does not conform with current PLAAF needs. what PLAAF needs is an aircraft that can operate far from the Chinese coastline to hunt down high value aerial targets. the alleged three-engine design, if true, is most likely adopted to enhance range, altitude and cruising speed. to assign a ground attack role to this fighter would be misplacing its potential.

Excuse my ignorance. Current generation of fighters are more maneuverable than human pilot could handle, at high speed. Could the next generation sacrifice that excess maneuverbility for improved stealth? Which in the end, not actually that less maneuverable.

Chinese 6th gen seems to be about stealth and speed. Which also implies very high-altitude. Traditional manoeuvrability at medium to low altitude at high subsonic speeds is probably not a core consideration for them anymore.

Before revealing it to the public, I wouldn't be surprised that they are going to fly this thing at night so no one can take a clear picture of it.

If they release this during the US inauguration, it will send a perfect message at the right time.
