A: So is this final (i.e. Chengdu AC's proposal for the J-XD being selected)? (Are they) looking down on Shenyang AC?
B: No, Shenyang AC also (has their own J-XD project). This time, it will be a bidding competition (between both ACs) with actual/physical demonstrator/prototype aircrafts, but Shenyang AC's concept/technology demonstrator/prototype will only take flight next year.
Shenyang AC's proposal is more radical (激进) - That is, by having greater degree of reliance on artificial intelligence. I like (Shenyang AC's proposal) more, but of course I don't know which one will be picked eventually.
Mainly obtained from scouting the comment sections underneath the Weibo posts by the You-know-whoS concerning the news and rumors about Chengdu AC's J-XD.
But again, I cannot guarantee the veracity of such claims as of present. Hence this post of mine from late-November:

I'm actually wondering about what AI tech is defined as in this instance. Is it just fancier decision trees and higher levels of automated mission planning/diagnostics?All 6th generation fighter jet will be incorporating AI tech. I would expect J-20A and J-35A to incorporate AI tech too. There is really nothing magical about that.

Was this the only location where the wall climbers are able to peek into the airfield? IIRC many leaked photos were taken near both or one of the ends of the runway.*Cough cough*
Due to *ahem* maintenance works on the *ahem* grass lawns and park amenities, Chengdu AC Park will be closed from today (Dec 12) until the last day of the year.

For reference, the location of the park (blue bracketed area):

Isn't there also an elevated location overlooking the runway called 黄田坝? I heard it will also be unavailable this time around but where about on the map is it? It's not a formal name on the map but more of a nickname as I understand it.Was this the only location where the wall climbers are able to peek into the airfield?
