a thought occurred to me now: a Cruiser Squadron!
the PLAN First Cruiser Squadron, based in Jiangnan, meant as a SAG, established in 2025
LOL!
I don't see any utility in bunching several 055 cruisers into a single squadron (except for administrative purposes only). They would be more useful leading squadrons composed of multiple ship types IMO.

well my idea was a blend of 1914

It's difficult to compare a PAC SAG to a PLAN SAG since the USN doesn't actually have any frigates (and its destroyers and cruisers are about the same size). A PLAN SAG would certainly include several 052C/Ds and 054A/Bs, along with a single 055 (or possibly 2).
