so there might be a more crazier idea about this kind of ship:
These containers and ships are prepared for the world after a total nuclear exchange. They will be stored in bunkers and assembled by survived descendants of the Chinese nation, becoming the only navy in the post-doomsday world. This is the true meaning of "the maritime rejuvenation of the Chinese nation".

How credible is this source?

Flabbergasting if true. Still need to see 76mm naval gun in a container to believe it though ;)

Actually this is disheartening if true, i just hope it's just a tongue in cheek comment. Unless China knows something we don't, i guess we can expect anything from the deranged paedo ring in Washington DC and their handlers...

Well, the "they" in "they told me" is likely Yankee, so

They work together. Xiyazhou is also a part of the crew

But he also highlighted that it might just be a way to get the project going, and people shouldn't treat this ship "that" seriously

He also mentioned that this ship serves technical purposes as the radars installed require extreme precision that is difficult to achieve in a modular fashion

Coastal port shipyards were utterly destroyed, not a single surface vessel remained, and port cities lay in ruins. A shadow fleet of container ships laden with missile launchers, poured out of the burning Yangtze River estuary, each container bearing the inscription: “Maritime Revival of the Chinese Nation.”

That's a bit too crazy.

The Fallout plot lines could just be thrown out as verbal chaff meant to cause confusion to get advertisers to dismiss this.

One thing worth noting is that just because they deployed the whole package in this one instance doesn’t mean that they need to roll out every module every time. They can still easily do pure arsenal ships by merely equipping container ships with the VLS module while leaving all the other sensors and armaments off. That’s one easy way the PLAN can rapidly effect a multiplication of its VLS count by just equipping container ships with full decks of VLS modules to accompany the regular fleet and spam missiles from the container ships using the warships sensors while the warships save their own magazines.

If we do continue with the Fallout theme, rapidly equipping container ships like this could also potentially allow China to rapidly deploy massive amounts of ABM interceptors far away out to sea to have a chance at shooting at Tridents in the ascent phase for added intercept odds.

I just don't see the rationale of a post-nuclear Armageddon Chinese Navy being the primary reason.

Calling it a proof of concept for an emergency naval buildup should be sufficient by itself.

They're using a small containership, but there's no reason they couldn't use a much larger containership which would be a lot more survivable because it would have a lot of compartments and reserve buoyancy.

So theoretically, such a containership could survive more hits than an actual naval Frigate.

I was referring more to the US leveraging our military and role as an international arbiter to enforce sanctions on Russia and Russian Oil rather than Venezuela on my second point.

Not to get off topic, but regarding whether or not the US would see weaponized container ships as a legitimate target and proactively take action against them. It would not be far-fetched to consider that in the lead-up to conflict, the US would sanction known cargo ships from landing on ports of the US and allied nations due to the threat of both weaponized containers and drones within.

It would be an economically suicidal move, but both of my points are to show that we are entirely capable of reacting non-morally and over-reacting to a perceived threat, even at great cost to ourselves.
The whole point of this ship is that it can blend in with shipping freighters and the enemy would not know where they are. They can hide in plain sight and be extremely close when they fire off. That's what they were designed to do (ironically, an American official tauted the idea against China in a Taiwan conflict not thinking that China can build many more) otherwise, they'd be in military colors. If they are known, of course they would be targeted; they're military assets after all.
