Exactly. The documents show that China has been working on the rim driven propeller for years. It is just that Prof. Ma didn't say that these will be used in the next nuclear submarine.

Yeah but the research has enhanced China's capability in submarine research and building. The documents show that China has been working on the rim driven propeller for years. It is just that Prof. Ma didn't say that these will be used in the next nuclear submarine.
I'm not sure what this means. Research has enhanced research? Rim drive is unlikely to be on the next sub, that's all delft is saying. Rim drive research doesn't enhance other aspects of China's submarine technology base, so progress in this area doesn't exactly enhance either China's capabilities in sub research or in sub building.Yeah but the research has enhanced China's capability in submarine research and building.
I know what Delft says. The point is China's continue successful rim drive research has enhanced it's technology in many ways than one. It increases both the software, hardware, production techniques, computer aid design, any one of which can help in the production of an improving submarine building.I'm not sure what this means. How do you know China's rim drive research is "successful"? How do you know China's rim drive research has done anything to improve "software", "hardware", "production techniques", and "computer aid design"?The point is China's continue successful rim drive research has enhanced it's technology in many ways than one. How do you even know if China's rim drive research is NOT successful? How do you know China's rim drive research is "successful"? How do you know China's rim drive research has done anything to improve "software", "hardware", "production techniques", and "computer aid design"?
If it was, it would be on the next submarine. Professor Ma obviously left this part out of the list of his accomplishments in that video. He clearly was not shy about detailing what has been accomplished so far, so if the rim drive was ready to go, I have no doubt he would have said so in that very video with that machine in the background.
You can't even say that, because you don't even know how far along China is towards fielding a rim drive nor do you know how far along any other country is towards fielding a rim drive.Bottom line is China closer to using this technology on their subs than any other player? It seems that way IMO.
