The Russians didn't have APS in Grozny.

About Trophy see my previous comment.

Of Course It's not the absolute defense weapon.

And again - MY POINT IS THAT, BASED ON THE VIDEO WE CAN'T GUDGE HOW IT WORKS AGAINST ATGMs.

P. S. Of Course they can fire whatever they want, but we don't discuss about the researchers capabilities.

Sorry what I meant is that the Russians had working APS tech LONG before Grozny. As far as the public knows, they didn't install APS on tanks that they had available during Grozny, such as Drozd or Arena. Could this be because they thought the APS they had wouldn't be too effective? I don't know. It might have had to do with the angle of those RPG attacks on the T-80 and T-72 tanks.

Yea we agree that APS is seen throughout history as a meh this might work in some circumstances type of defence.

Yeah from the video we don't know how well GL-6 works against ATGM since the video shows a test against RPG 7.

But we should note that RPG 7 flies faster than some very widespread ATGMs and they fired the RPG 7 pretty close. Most ATGMs take a while to accelerate to top speed and on the battlefield typically fired from over a kilometer away.

BTW the Korean K2 APS test was also using a RPG 7.

Merkava's APS ... no public video I'm aware of. Same with the many Russian ones.

Let's assume that APS developers and the militaries purchasing APS would be testing them against ATGMs. I'm sure that's a given.

The Trump administration is getting ahead of itself, but let's suppose the Chinese authorities agree to dispatch peacekeepers to Ukraine, most likely under an UNSC mandate.

Will Europeans welcome the presence of Chinese peacekeepers in Ukraine, or will Europeans frame Chinese peacekeepers in Ukraine as occupiers or a threat waiting to menace Europe proper?

Beggars can't be choosers. Either get with the new sheriff in town or forced to actually put their money, blood, sweat, and tears where their big mouthes are.

What is there for China to gain with a peacekeeping presence in Ukraine?

It's well known that Trump wants to reduce America's military commitments in Europe to relocate and refocus finite resources towards Asia against China. If that's the case, why would China contribute peacekeepers that will make it easier for the US to pivot eastward?

If anything, it is in China's best interest to prolong the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

What's the context here? What are we looking at? Is this a cosplay convention in Arizona?

IIRC, these photos are from the AMAN 2025 military exercise that was recently held in Pakistan.

They really need to teach this in boot camp instead of relying on units to teach the basics.

If the problem lies with instructors not giving proper instructions or insisting on proper wear, then hit the instructors with rubber bullets on their upper thoraxes to teach them a painful lesson that they shall not soon forget. Also reduce their pay, and if necessary, discharge them/or court martial them depending on how long they've been bungling their jobs.

As for the regular grunts, first ensure that they have received correct instructions on how to wear vests properly, then follow these simple steps to ensure compliance:
1) Let the grunts put on their vests (with plates).
2) Line them up 30 yards down range.
3) Shoot rubber bullets at their upper thorax. Those who wear their vests properly will walk away as if nothing happened. Those who don't will learn a painful lesson to never do it again. Additional punishment should also be encouraged, such as performing 300 pushups or having their pay deducted for each instance of improper wear.

Sometimes, the peasants need to be kicked hard for the lessons to properly stick.

He is no longer an official source, but considering his background and the volume of interviews he grants tier 1 international media, it's pretty obvious he speaks with official sanction.

Question is: did the Sr Col actually mean what he said?

You are jumping in too soon on this. Trump is the US president. PLA is Chinese military

There is no need to post these kind of things here unless Chinese official sources themselves talk about it in a positive way. Until that happens, it's just your usual Trump rumblings
