1100 infantry officers? i think that is more than the total number of infantry officers in some small armies.

President Xi Jinping has urged cadets who will soon graduate from the Infantry Academy of the People's Liberation Army Ground Force to devote themselves to building a world-class military.
Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, told members of the academy's class of 2022 in a letter of reply that after they are assigned to combat forces, they should firm up their beliefs, hone their skills and capabilities and keep improving themselves.
The academy's class of 2022 cadets recently wrote a letter to Xi, telling him about their studies and training and expressing their determination to strive for the PLA's modernization.
In his return letter, Xi congratulated the cadets on their coming graduation and assignment.
The commander in chief said he is pleased to know that the young officers are eager to use their knowledge and skills to build their units.
The academy, located in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, was established in August 2017 by merging two infantry colleges under the PLA Ground Force.
It was inspected by Xi in May 2019, and he ordered the academy to ensure that its graduates are capable of fighting and winning wars.
There are more than 1,100 class of 2022 cadets at the academy.
13 combined corps , 76 brigades , about 7 battalion each ,let say 10 company per battalion on average.1100 infantry officers? i think that is more than the total number of infantry officers in some small armies.
You have missed out TMR and XMR13 combined corps , 76 brigades , about 7 battalion each ,let say 10 company per battalion on average.
A company has 6 officers , that comes out 420 officers per brigades , that without the staff positions at brigade in reality, so lets say 500 for simplicity.
So for the ground forces alone , for field formations alone I would expect 6500 officers , not all of them are infantry , and not all of them is been replaced each year.
A reasonable assumption would be half of the officers come from infantry schools , and 30% of them discharge each year , so 1100 if quite reasonable.
Honestly the math I did here is on the low end , it wouldn't surprise me that there would be 2 times as much officer positions
