I remember there was once advertised a special drone like munition, to be fired from existing missile cells in HQ17. said drone-like munition was advertised to work against other drones, and its graphics featured large wings, it definitely looked subsonic.
Said munition could very well have range of 30 km - against certain target types like slow drones.

I remember that, but slant range is whats given on the billboard and it makes no sense to use slant range on the sort of drone munition from the video - and in that case, 30km seems a bit low for a winged drone. Also I've frankly had doubts about that munition for a while, it doesn't seem to make much sense to launch from the HQ-17 platform.

Unrelated - do other members have a problem with SAM thread, like I do? I can't access it from the topics list, it's simply not listed. I have to search for it manually. I ask because I see other members put SAM images in the general land systems thread, instead of here.

Anyway, one of those images is this:

As far as I can tell, it's the equivalent of HQ-9A in PLA service. I don't remember seeing confirmation of its range. It was long suspected that it's not just 125km, as the FD2000 range was often stated, but longer. But now we have confirmation it's in fact 180 km for the A variant.

Hm, does fd1000 have anything in common with the small form hq9 missile? If not, would it mean yet another separate missile for PLA, assuming a HQ variant of it exists?
