This has been discussed by Shilao & co. before. The concept is to use the very high end sensor suite on the HQ-17A to command anti-drone UGVs. So the UGV is the "HQ-17A fire support vehicle."Was this shared? It is being marketed as an addition to the HQ-17AE. 24 short range and 48 very short range missiles... Very probably against cheap UAVs.
Note to the mods: I can't upload photos. It says they are too large.
Aren't these images really old? First one also doesn't look quite right for what we saw launching but maybe that was a resolution issue.Images that allegedly show HQ-19's interceptor and maneuvering components.
The missile illustration itself doesn't look like the one in service, but the kill vehicle seems to have the trait of a high endo-atmospheric KV with the sensor window. If it is legit, it's probably some other high-endo/exo interceptor or a generic illustration.Images that allegedly show HQ-19's interceptor and maneuvering components.
Interesting, so like the "loyal wingman" concept extended to ground vehicles. That may be the trend in the future. In fact, the main vehicle will probably eventually have no function except for some armor and a lot of sensors and communications suites, commanding swarms of UGVs with combined offense and defense capabilities. This has been discussed by Shilao & co. before.
