There's not a lot of detail in the article, but I recall in podcast didn't they mention this guy was the one who gave that F-35C pilot such a fright that she/he ended up crashing the plane onto USS Carl Vinson? I remember Yankee said not only did the crash happen because of PLAAF pressure but PLAAF have footage taken from above looking down as the crash happened and Yankee himself have seen the footage by invite.
I think you are talking about this clip

That's the one.
That's going to be quite the stir if that "you are already dead" footage ever shows up in public.
I am a bit ambivalent about this account and excuse my Chinese too if I misunderstood Yankeesama. I pulled up the original report and did find it was mentioned the pilot in question "was a previous Top-5 Nugget and a Top-10 ball-flyer within CVW-2". So that part checks out. But I wasn't able to find any mention that the pilot in question wanted to "cheer up the crowds." It was only mentioned he wanted to attempt a benign first attempt at expedited recovery before the end of his first tour as a JO. I mean sure you could interpret this as him wanting to cheer himself up? Or there's some other report released that I didnt know about...

I ll post the USNI link to the released report.

PLAAF Airborne now has a new IFV. It appears to come in two variants. One variant active protection system built in, as indicated by the MMW radars built into the front corners of the hull.

But I‘m surprised they call it „Dingzin“!?? I thought this base is known as „Dingxin“!
