New chest ribbon bars. If I'm interpreting this correctly, in order of priority, one ribbon bar is reserved for indicating wearer's command level (i.e. battalion, divisional, etc.), followed by ribbons for medals and commendations (if any), and then followed by the seniority ribbons.
Eventually a PLAN NA unit transferred to the PLAAF? Can anyone translate or correct my post?
If true this should be the trend going forward. Only naval aviation left should be carrier aviation.
Wouldn't that be the job of the KJ-600 especially for AEW? I think the Y-9s and 8s will be retained unless they want standardize on the KJ-600 airframe for them as well. But what about the ASW/EW/ISR & AEW types? Cannot think they will also go to the PLAAF!
I think there should still be land based fighter-bomber naval aviation units. I think this move is to let land based units transition to all Sino-flanker units. I guess this helps with interoperability. Imagine having all the PLAN JH7A/A2 units be replaced by carrier capable flanker. It would be more expensive to operate, but will offer better interoperability with the carrier based units. If true this should be the trend going forward. Only naval aviation left should be carrier aviation.
These could be good candidates for converting to drones.Eventually a PLAN NA unit transferred to the PLAAF? Can anyone translate or correct my post?
Why? Please elaborate more on this point. Thank you.I think PLA needs to add brigadier general rank (准将,one star) and to abolish senior colonel rank. Tighten the promotion criteria on major general, convert senior colonel of active duty to brigadier general.
