Xinhui on CDF is saying it's for a "newly constructed national defense education center"... E-2 mockup? The radar mount certainly looks a lot like the E-2's... Could be a PLAN AEW&C mock up gien its near identical look from previous blurry pics but I'm going with the E2 explanation.

the Tail has some differences too E2 features 4 Dorsal rudders this Mockup only has two. It's not a Aircraft either as non of the control surfaces look real as There are none.

Any idea why they are building these ZDK-03 variants for domestic usage?

I thought its going to be KJ-2000 high-end and the rest would be KJ-200...

Either they are not that similar or this one offers some capabilities suited for the naval environment !

Besides that does anyone know the PLA-designation of that new type Y-8???? KJ-???

The new PLANAF-bird ... it's simply a psed PAF aircraft (look alosne at the camoflage).
