I just found out that I said "the left building" but the KJ-700 radar is actually the right building lol.
No wonder the radomes on the left side in both photos look oddly identical lol

Supposedly yes, but I can't find another source confirming the same designation (KJ-700) but at least we know what they are planning to install on the back of AEW platform.
Interesting.

With a much larger radome than the ones on the KJ-500, and given how the Y-9 is using the comparably underpowered WJ-6J - Perhaps the currently WIP Y-30 with AEP500 could be the more suitable platform for the supposed KJ-700...

Also, the larger radome is two-sided, which means that radome could/should be a rotating design. For comparison, the KJ-500's radome is a three-sided, fixed design.

Rumor suggests that the next-gen AEW platform will be named after "KJ-700 and KJ-3000" (not surprising)

The one in the middle is supposed to be the radar for KJ-3000 whereas the left one is for KJ-700.

Comparison before the new one was installed on the left building.

Left? .. but isn’t the right one the one which is different?

Offtopic but where did you get the WJ-6J designation from?

Yes, the right one.

They don't?

@斯文的土匪--- on Weibo (the original poster) mentioned that both radomes look pretty close/almost similar in size.

Here's another image from the same site ...

Perhaps a KJ-919? Or is that too far along the road?

Actually I don't think yet ... if ever.
