Just had a read back on @Deino's the Warzone article on China's AEW&C aircraft development history, and this is the first comment that pops up:

How true is this allegation? It seems quite unreasonable and inconceivable (IMO) that the present-day PLAAF and PLAN are still largely sticking with the Soviet and Russian methods of AEW&C CONOPS.

Besides, isn't having more AEW&C aircrafts actually a good thing, given the size, depth and complexity of the WestPac and Himalayan frontiers? Also, AFAIK, the KJ-200s and KJ-500s aren't just pure AEW&C platforms either.

It is an idiotic comment. We know that the PLAAF has been training with Western instructors to learn how to fight against Western doctrine. Also, the idea that having a ground control network is a bad idea, is also ridiculous. Especially if you know anything about WW2 and the Battle of Britain, and how British central command and control of their aircraft in connection with radar networks enabled them to win.

It's a random comment on the war zone, what do you think?

One doesn't require "western instructors" to use AEW&C in a modern manner.

The comment itself did not deserve acknowledgement or space on this thread to begin with.
