Hmm?? Do we really know it is a new one? Based on the number I assume it is more likely a prototype with its CFTE serial?!

Ah, you are right. Double-checked Huitong's website, and it indeed is the prototype. Now I wonder how old this image is.

China Daily has an interesting story about the 72nd anniversary of the PLAN. It doesn't touch on fighters, bombers, or helicopters, but gives a good bit of emphasis to fixed wing ASW, although no aircraft is specified. My sense is that the un-specified aircraft in the story is the Y-8Q.

Yes. Two ventral bays either side of midline.
