...On a more srs note, The Avic representative speaking to the president about the 'advanced fighter' and the J-10CE fitted with various export oriented weaponry which bears a serial number indicating the EAF

That's interesting, but care to explain this a bit in detail? Which weaponry and which numbers are typical for " indicating the EAF"?

The serial number of the aircraft starting with a '9' is highly indicative of EAF fighters.

The Egyptians have a tendency to asked for small modifications as such the J-10CE comes with dual rack BVR launchers under its centerpylon.

Not related to the J-10, but the Rafale model at the airshow fitted with those supersonic missiles also indicate a deeper coop between Egypt and China.

Well, this is new to me, but why the "9" and can this be seen on other EAF fighters? The fact that IMO only F-16s use this is not a clear hint IMO.

For me it is a Batch 09 J-10C but since built at GAIC it uses a different numbering system.

But that missile was already on offer I think 4 years ago, when Egypt was not even mentioned for the first time in connection to CHinese arms

Takes some balls from them if that's the case. Egypt receives a $1.3 billion defense grant from the US, which is a big chunk of their defense budget.
CAATSA doesn't apply to China. $1.3 billion might seem a lot but it is relatively less compared what it used to be thanks to inflation. $1.3 billion in the '80's is something different now.

That's why they haven't taken delivery of the Su-35, because they'll get slapped with CAATSA which would mean less support for the backbone of their airforce (F-16, E-2C) and army (M1, AH-64).
