Re: SCO holds joint live-ammunition exercises in Kazakhstan

Are those Chinese humvee knockoffs or are they American humvees belonging to one of the other militaries? They look like they have add-on armor on the sides?

Why "knockoffs?"

Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Hyundai Sonata, who is knockoff who?

It's either for show for that picture (wich I think is most likely here), or they flare preemtively shortly before or after weapon release close to the ground to confuse potential IR seekers from MANPADS on the ground.

Thnx for the answer Scratch. From what I've heard the J-10 was used for rocket straffing of ground targets but I don't know whether precision guided weapons were used. Seems appropriate given how big a event this is.

What is a scenario of this exercise? It is odd to me to see such a large forces to be deployed against terrorist groups, and there are some unusual weapon systems that are not commonly used against such low threat as terrorists are, but more against well organized armies.

Well don't you also think America is over killing it by sending such large troops forces and carrier battle groups? My answer no. Definition of terrorism you should go check it up.
