a Sov cost China 700 million US. I doubt a Slava would cost less than that. Don't quote listed price of Ukrina, the listed price for a sov was 425 million (it obviously cost China a lot more) So what am I saying? A slava would be too expensive. Not just the procurement cost, but also the operating costs.Finn McCool said:Agreed Isthvan. Perhaps the PN should look into procuring something like a Slava. This would be cheaper (I'm assuming that it would be cheaper because its Russian.) than a couple of OHPs, it comes with the S-300 and also SS-N-12s. Assuming that Russia gives them everything right away. Just a thought.

Actually if i understand miggy correctly he is trying to point to the rd-93 deal in which Russia has a face saving argument that it's not selling to Pakistan directly. If similar kind of deal could be done in which Russia sells to china and gives it tacit approval to seel to Pakistan.Gollevainen said:I think the same rules apply to russia-china arms trade as to other trade in general. You cannot sell goods bougth from another to third party wihtout its approval or facing the risk of loosing the trade relationship.
