this doesn't sound so good for China. Pakistan had been a major Chinese ally. The U.S's arming of Pakistan is obviously try to improve its relationship with it and form a comon front against Chinese interest. This is definitely not a good news
Dude, what are you talking about? Do you know of a project called Gwadar? It is going to be a major deep sea port built in Pakistan and the Chinese are funding most of the project. Basically, this deep sea port will serve as a massive trading hub AND will also have a major PLAN presence in the coming decade (I should also tell you that once this hub is formed, about 90% of the world's oil will be coming through that port). Also, Pakistan has been armed before by the US. Can you name me an incident in where Pakistan betrayed China?
Time to get your facts a little straight: the US is trying to arm India to provide a counterweight against China. The recent bid for the US trying to sell F-18 Superhornets and F-16's is proof of that. Also, there are reasons that Pakistan is being armed:
1. The fact that Pakistan has been the forefront of the war on terrorism; most of the terrorists in US custody have been handed over BY Pakistan.
2. The US recognizes that the serious conventional balance between Pakistan and India will force Pakistan to rely on its nukes a lot and therefore, create a dangerous situation during times of tension. Selling Pakistan high-tech weapons will even out that balance somewhat.
3. Pakistan is the one that has been urging the US to sell it high tech weapons for years now even though Pakistan is one of China's biggest allies.
