With what's going on in the middleast and Iran's involvement, Iran imo is inviting unnecessary trouble to make the situation worse for itself atm. I don't expect it to escalate from here.
Technically its the first real fight test for J-10C?
I wasn't aware of toddlers being killed, and am surprised by the response, given in the past, it didn't escalate to this point.Imo a huge strategic miscalculation from Iran. Last time Pakistan responded to a bigger foe over some pine trees and a dead crow, how could this go unanswered with 2 toddlers being killed.
Whoever advised Khomeini on this does not have Iran's interests in their mind. They need to review and heads should roll, for their own sake.
The past didn't include ballistic missiles deep into territory, usually, they were small arms skirmishes.I wasn't aware of toddlers being killed, and am surprised by the response, given in the past, it didn't escalate to this point.
Also, something is strange about these events. The Iran drone/missile strike occurred while Pakistan and Iran were holding joint naval drills in the Hormuz. Wtf?
Maybe the groups targetted are also on Pakistan's hit-list, but the latter doesn't want to be seen as attacking it's own people (kind of like how Pakistan allowed US to conduct drone strikes in it's territory). The past didn't include ballistic missiles deep into territory, usually, they were small arms skirmishes.
About your second point, exactly, there were naval drills, there were meetings between the caretaker PM of Pakistan and Iranian FM in the day earlier etc. This came out of the blue and it boggles my mind what were they thinking.
There are rumors maybe this may have something to do with Indian FM visiting Iran earlier. Quite silly to be listening to someone getting bullied by Maldives and got slapped around in last skirmish. Or perhaps due to internal political turmoil, they thought they may get away with it. They need to remember even TTP proclaimed they would stop fighting the state if India invades and start fighting India.
Default state of Pakistanis tend to be politically divided, bitterly, most of the time, but when outsider starts to muddle our internal shit, we tend not to appreciate that.
Pakistan has taken concrete steps against Jaish ul Adal for a long time, literally handing over the leadership of the group, in response it hasn't gotten anything in return regarding BLA/BLF terrorists who have known training camps and sanctuaries in Iran. Apart from that, the biggest crime lord in Pakistan once upon a time (Uzair Baloch) was found to be an Iranian asset. Iran has always been duplicitous towards Pakistan since the mullahs took over. Over the past few years, there has been some re-approachment but it seems like Iran has undone all the goodwill it painstakingly rebuilt over the last decade in a matter of minutes. Iranians talk big game against Israel but have managed to snatch the focus away from Gaza in international media and have only hit other friendly countries. They found out today Pakistan is neither Iraq nor Syria or any of their conventional enemies. This is the first time Iran has been attacked directly from outside since Iraq-Iran war that ended in 88. Play stupid games, win silly prizes.Maybe the groups targetted are also on Pakistan's hit-list, but the latter doesn't want to be seen as attacking it's own people (kind of like how Pakistan allowed US to conduct drone strikes in it's territory).
