If it's nothing, then why is there complaining of US accusations of cheating.?

Complaining about accusations of cheating is fine, but the last two paragraphs where you broadened it into geopolitics and historical grievances and WWII is really unnecessary for this thread.

It's not like most people here aren't already aware of what you're talking about given the sociopolitical persuasions of most users of this forum, so there's really no need to preach to the choir especially if it's so off topic from the thread itself.

It has everything to do with geopolitics!

There was drama at the Olympic swimming on Friday morning as Slovakia swimmer Tamara Potocká collapsed poolside after her heat in the women’s 200m individual medley.

Potocká finished seventh in her race, and had climbed out of the water before collapsing on the pool deck. She was provided immediate medical treatment, including being given an oxygen mask. After several minutes of attention from medical staff, Potocká was moved on to a stretcher and carried away in a prone position.

The swimming heats were delayed for about 10 minutes while Potocká was given medical care. There was a loud cheer of support from the crowd as she was stretchered away.

“Tamara has asthma. This whole combination of nervous and physical tension while she did not have her inhaler immediately available to use contributed to the creation of this problem,” Slovakia’s team leader, Ivana Lange, said in a statement. “She received oxygen and necessary medication, her condition is constantly monitored. A few minutes ago, the doctor told me that she must be monitored for several more hours.”

A Slovakian official said Potocká did not have an inhaler with her in the arena.

Canadian prodigy Summer McIntosh qualified fastest in the individual medley. Potocká finished 23rd, meaning she was eliminated from the competition.

Looking at the times in the mixed relay, the US and China both swam men in the first 2 legs. Qin was the fastest in the breast and had a 0.47 lead over the US swimmer. The biggest time difference was in butterfly where Zhang Yufei was 0.46 slower than the US swimmer. So the lead in the breast was cancelled out by the slower time in the butterfly. Xu was 0.05 slower. Yang was 0.08 slower. Overall US won by 0.12 seconds over China.

Yes, I know, we all know.

But we don't need it continuously shoved into our faces.

The purpose of this thread isn't to enable a discourse analysis of major sporting events in context of geopolitical stressors and historical and cultural frameworks. All modes of entertainment, media, sporting, job markets, technology, are relevant to geopolitics, history and culture, but you need to exercise some restraint to let those mediums to still be observed and enjoyed for what they are.

Seems my sources were correct earlier that they used Qin because they decided they go for gold or nothing.

Qin actually performed his job this time at the mixed relay and China was in the lead for the first half. However the problem is the females are just not as fast as the younger americans so america won out.

I wonder will they have this weakness in the men's medley. If not this might the only other chance of China getting gold in swimming.
