Man, these few days are a real eye-opener for me. I never would have thought that China has messed with the Anglos minds this much. The fear is so real, that they couldn't even name Pan as one of the favourites in their little banter, lest it jinx their swimmers.

I mean Pan is the current World Record holder, broken the Olympic Record during the relays, granted had a poor pre-lims, but came back as the fastest swimmer during the semis. Everyone could at least count him among the favourites to win.

I am also surprised at how fragile they are. I thought that with Zhang Yufei, Tang Qianting and Qin Haiyang all underperforming, they'd call it a successful sabotage. I didn't realize that even 1 guy scared them.

Chalmers is answering to Pan's comment that he snubbed Pan saying that he didn't. He said he didn't see Pan because he was focused on his team and Pan also didn't see the fist pump he said he gave Pan before. That's probably the Anglo way of sliding out after defeat. "We Aussies always liked China, but we had to do what the US told us even though we didn't want to! The whole way, we were giving you signals on how to defeat them; didn't you see our signals? That's how you beat them and came to be the world top, right? We coded our signals to you in the media insults we gave you so the US wouldn't know! We'd never really insult you cus that's not who we are; we're super nice people. We're cool, right? So... what area of the world are you gonna assign us to be your enforcer for?"

I really wish everyone would hop the great firewall and ruin all the haters' lives.

马克·舒伯特曾以美国游泳队教练的身份带队参加了8届奥运会，培养了多位名将，他的话在旁人看来，几乎都是权威，可是潘展乐不信这个邪。这个建议在当时看来不无道理。2022年男子100米自由泳的世界纪录已经达到了46秒88，创造者就是与潘展乐同龄的罗马尼亚神奇小子大卫·波波维奇。而潘展乐当时的水平与之相差大半秒，放在泳池里，就是落后半个身位。

“因为他的这句话，我就练到现在。到了多哈（世锦赛）见到他，我就拿出四块金牌跟他炫耀，我特意给他指出来哪块是100自的金牌，然后跟他说还破了世界纪录。”

潘展乐形容自己是天生反骨，“别人越觉得我做不到，我就一定要做给他看。”

American coach Mark Schubert told Pan back in 2022, he should swim 200m IM instead cause the Chinese have no future in 100m Freestyle. Pan saw him in Doha and showed off his gold medals including his 100m Freestyle.

I think that's taking it way too far. We shouldn't jump to conclusions without hearing from both sides first. It probably wasn't, but it may have been a simple misunderstanding. Obviously, I am disgusted by the reactions of many Westerners to Pan's record-breaking swim, but I don't think anyone's life should be ruined over this.
