I got a basic degree in Mechanical Engineering in RMIT - Australia. Now I am studying for a Master in Engineering Business.

I think taking the SATII mandarin is a complete waste of time and money unless your white, colleges dont look too favoribly on asian people taking that test regardless of whether they know the language. beside the percentile is so screwed up i think getting a 800 is only like 50 percentile or something.
Actually, my friend's sister, an ABC, got 770 and end up at the 3%tile.
The test was so easy (and there were hints too.) some of my friends (full time ABC w/o schooling ones) can probably ace it.
Stupid instructor delayed everything............but I am in UC's ELC list so it doesn't matter anymore.

Its probably so nice to be living in california with alot of othe asian people. the east coast is so different, the high school i went to was almost all white, i was was only one of 6 asian people out of a graduating class of 400.

Personally I not a big fan of being surrounded by people of all the same race, Asian or not. It's just boring in a way like that...
Guess that's why I came to UM... where Asians are the second largest minority. Just enough to make friends that look like you if you so wish, but not so much that you feel like you're back in Taiwan again.

Well, we go by the names "bluesuiters," "bus drivers" (named for the similarity of the uniform to the old Greyhound Bus Lines driver's suit), "Junior Birdmen" (1930's radio show -- theme song "Up and away, Junior Birdmen"), and the "Air Farce" (Or "Air Farts!"
). The ground-pounders, jarheads and squid kids gave us the name because of our planes "zooming" swiftly by overhead. We sometimes answer to "Airdales", "Air Horse" and a lot worse, too! 
In the USN we that worked in Naval Air were called airdales. Engineers are snipes. Electronic techs are tweets. Deck ratings are Blackshoes. Offices are refered to as zero's. Oh it goes on.....
In Naval Air the USAF is generally refered to as the Air Farce(no offense)...Marines as Jar-heads, ja-rines, jia-rines or grunts no mattter what they do. And the USCG men are called Cosaties ,Ducks or "shallow water sailors" Civillians are called "sand crabs".

Dude, you'll still have to do all that work though - just later on. I hated missing classes, etc because it meant I just had to catch up in my spare time.
I got to stay home and shovel snow, yay... :coffee:
