Hey Popeye-At my school they call all the assemblies "rallies" so you go expecting something entertaining but half the time its something boring/depressing. Last time I went to one I was expecting your typical high school rally fare but I ended up getting an hour lecture about landmines in third world countries...

Yea we had pep rallies etc. One assembly I did attend was a pep rally for our HS before a football game. At the end of the assembly the Vice-princple one Mr Homer Jones made this announcment;

"Ladies and gentlemen the assembly is not over ..now remain in your seats".."Now for your enjoyment here is Decca recording stars Sam & Dave!!!! the place went wild. Sam & Dave recorded the original version of Soul Man in 1967..way better than the Blues Bros...they sang "Soul man" and a few other tunes at the assembly.

Dude was cool..he was short and bald. Always had a walkie talkie..Our school had 3500 students. Everyone like him because he was fair and understanding. When I was in the 11th grade he was voted the most popular faculity member. When the announced his name at the assembly in the main Gym he was not there. He was out partolling the hallways for wary students. Mr Lowe the principal called for him on the PA system. In the assembly the students started chanting.."we want Homer..we want Homer.."
suddenly Old Homer comes running into the gym rums around to the cheers of the assembled crowd and slides into the podium like he was sliding into home plate. He wuz tooo cool!

Oh man...this is too funny...my school vice principal is short and bald. He's not exactly popular though. The few times that I have talked to him though he's been cool.

Well, now I have a story about my former principal as well.
It was back in 8th grade. Some of my friends did some rag so they were called into the proncipal's office were he reprehended them somewhat strongly. On that very day our local Ice-hockey team gave several free tickets to some local schools. So before the office there were a lot of students waiting to get one. When he was through reprehending the "riots" he finished: "Oh and I have some free-tickets for the next Ice-hockey game, everyone just grad some."
What a man ... :D

And for the weather, we have no probs with snow or coldness at all. For that time of the year it's good 10 centigrade or nearly 20°F to warm ... actual I have sky clear. :)

Good story. But you must have a lot of endurance to be abel to say that 20 degress F is nice! Here in California its about 50 F and everybody is complaining about how cold it is! I try to stay warm :coffee: .

Finn I think you got me wrong, or I wasn't able to express myself correct. :)
We have around 55°F where around 40 would be normal for that time of year.
So it's 15-20 too much. And that was the case for nearly the last two month.
