I am not sure what you are trying to say here? The reunification of North Korea and South Korea is not going to happen under any circumstances with the current disposition of forces. A national objective of reunification has never been a serious goal from the North Korean side. They haven't had anything to offer outside of threats of violence for decades and the only reason they resorted to developing nuclear weapons was because they were losing credibility to conventionally deter South Korea.
You are right, North Korea should retire it's armed conventional forces, since it's redundant, unnecessary, reunification is impossible, it has sufficient nuclear ICBMs for regime survival and deterrence against US. You should be the leader of North Korea.

This might not be entirely true tho. Considering they already started it for decades. In fact i recalled the reason for the bomb was "wanting to be self reliant" Even NK did consider Russia to be unreliable allies when it forced NK to sign NPT.

The bomb served as deterrent to prevent intervention to their affair.

Kim Jong-un sacks his top general

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has dismissed his top military leader and ordered heightened preparations for war, including increased production of weapons.

Chief of the General Staff Pak Su-il has been fired after about seven months on the job, state-run media outlet KCNA reported on Thursday. He has been replaced by General Ri Yong-gil, formerly North Korea’s defense minister.

Ri previously served a stint as military chief of staff. Ironically, when he was replaced in 2016 and didn’t appear at public events for a few months, South Korean reports suggested that he had been executed. He replaced Pak Jong-chon as second-in-command of the country’s military in January.

KCNA offered no explanation for the latest change in military leadership. North Korea’s government often reshuffles personnel in top positions.

Kim Jong Un continued to visit factories that make weapon systems.
Here he personally drove the new 8x8,

from the same new 8x8 base also a version with an unmanned turret armed with a 122 (?) mm artilleries

Tell us something we couldn’t have surmised, just by visual clues! A few posts back (different thread), I said this, just last week. It’s fairly obvious!
NK’s weapons look much more like Russian systems, to me!l

I was referring more to their contemporary ballistic missiles!

North Korean missile capable of striking the U.S. most likely a result of cooperation with Russia, think tank says

The missile’s dimensions and its flight trajectory data appear “nearly identical” to those of Russia’s Topol-M ICBM, says the report from the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Exclusive: North Korean hackers breached top Russian missile maker

Coming on the eve of such a high level meeting, I'd interpret this more as sanction-evading technological information transfer than as a hack!

And, it’s not just this one missile. Many of their tactical missiles have definite Russian design ‘influences’, as well!

it should be emphasized that it is the practice of every nation (all), yesterday, today and tomorrow, to try to get their hands on civil or military projects that can be considered innovative and with the necessary modifications also be useful for the growth of the industry and for the needs national.
But the biggest mistake that continues to be made is that of always underestimating the autonomous design and construction capabilities of some nations, nations that would only be capable of copying (in reality, great capabilities are needed even just to copy a weapon system ).
It is written that the North Koreans have had access to information relating to missiles on Russian sites, but in the recent past it was indicated that the rocket engine technology was of Ukrainian origin, but it must also be said by observing the latest photos of the weapon systems factories .
1) the 8x8 is certainly not like any Soviet/Russian 8x8. Likewise none of the versions of this North Korean 8x8 have similar Russian versions.
2) Until recently it was written that TELs were made on Chinese looms, today they prove that they are made from scratch in North Korea.
3) Drones and UAVs certainly don't look like Russian products
4) and the Naval System that looks like the Oto Melara 76/62 Compact with invisible dome certainly doesn't look like a Russian product.
5) ditto for many anti-tank missiles, including some with similarities to Israeli products.
Therefore, either the men of the North Korean secret services + hackers are good enough to pierce the archives of countries all over the planet, or it would be appropriate to accept that the DPRK, thanks also to the very heavy sanctions and ebargos it has suffered, has effectively developed its military industry which today makes it almost independent of foreign supplies.
In fact, one of the new drones appears to be propelled by a jet engine (turbojet-turbofan ?) which should be of size and power (possibly with afterburner and in torque) also adaptable for a possible new piloted aircraft, (Training/Coin, small fighter jet) and who knows if we will soon see this piloted aircraft fly or as a drone that had been immortalized on the ground via satellite.

So let's not underestimate, certainly the renewed friendships and those with other sanctioned countries, could eventually speed up the production capacities of the native North Korean systems.

Somewhere i've read that they acqcuired the blueprints for the engines for hwasong 14-15 from black market, possibly from Ukrainian mafia, they are old Soviet designs
