WOOT North Korean Parade Photos!... Need to be playing the Red Alert Hell march to properly critique these
The North Korean are not as isolated as they are sometimes painted. This gear shows a lot of foreign influence.
The pattern looks like a M81 Woodlands derivative colorway is very blue Reminds me of the Jean Claud Van Damn Street fighter film could be the lighting though. Reminds me of a couple old Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs camo patterns. Other wise what look like a jungle boot and Knee pads. Note the weapons These are variants of the AK series of Rifles I have seen then listed as either 5.45x39mm M74 or 5.56x45mm the tube is a helical magazine like those seen on the Russian Bizon or Chinese Chang Feng submachine guns only for full rifles capacity is estimated to be about 100 rounds.
They are never seen with a Deployed stock and the weight of that has to be a pain in the Arse. They also appear to have a NOD.
Speaking of which whose guys in the first picture remind me a lot of the guys form Homefront:
Let us never mention that game again..... JK
Well partially, yeah, Normally in the published photos from the DPRK we see the Service uniforms with weapons. The DPRK though is not mars there leaders and officers have access to the outside world denied to the Rank and File populous, they have seen the same images and Games as well as real images from combat zones. They also have access to some arms from around the world. there
Wow They have been busy. My money is these are the NKSOF. Elite units of the North Korean military, In essence there Republican guard.
North Korea has an army of what a million? Out of that about a 10th are NKSOF. They are the most hard core of the DPAK.
but although the grunts are impressive there is more than just these guys to deal with.
Vehicles on Parade.
First up is the Tanks. derivatives of the T62 in 2 main families note the missile launchers on the turrets. Unlike the Chinese and Russian or in fact most of the combloc export Tanks with the 115mm or 125mm smooth bore guns the NK tanks lack the ability to fire guided missile rounds. There tanks also still use round dome cast turrets in most cases.
second APC's, indigenous wheeled 6x6 based on the BTR series. I call them APC's not IFV's as although used like an IFV there main gun is a 14.5mm which by standard agreement classifies ( NATO having a gun system less then 20mm) them as APC's note extra missiles and guns on the turrets to make up for the light firepower. There main arms do not have the power to take a South Korean MBT or the newer model K21 of IFV. They might be able to take a older K200 KIFV.
Mercedes Benz G wagons probably civilian models modified into a near military model.
Indigenous M1991 122mm SPH
130mm SPH
hmm might be a new Anti Aircraft missile system here. Not sure.
122mm Rocket launcher M1993 looks like they armored the windshield
240mm M1991 rocket, looks like they changed the Cab I guess North Korea is trying to "MRAP" there vehicles.
M1989 same rockets just fewer of them.
More G wagons.
S200 AKA SA5 SAM
KN06 SAM
Air formation looks like old Turbo props.
I have no idea. I am guessing a Coastal battery missile.
Pukguksong-1 SLBM.
