South Korea isn't just selling ammo to Ukraine. They are also selling lots of military hardware to arm Poland to the teeth. This includes tanks and artillery.

I am fairly sure that Russia will try to be restrained, at least initially, and it is likely that lower tier hardware like the MiG-35, Yak-130, and Kilo submarine will be sent. If South Korea then sends weapons into Ukraine, then this could be upgraded. Higher end weapons could be provided. Lada submarines, Su-75 when it is available, etc.

Licensed tank production could also be furnished to North Korea just like they setup T-90 tank production in India. Or aid could be furnished to help improve North Korea's own native tank program.
And what about UN sanctions? Even transferring the Yak-130 or Kilo 877 would still be too bold.

I consider the ideas of circumventing sanctions which was mentioned in The Diplomat, or transferring technology for local production like some of the ideas you just presented to be more feasible.

The UN Security Council sanctions also forbid North Korea from exporting minerals like coal and iron ore. From exporting textiles and fish. From importing natural gas or importing crude oil. Well Russia is already selling them crude oil.
Russia will just continue eroding the sanctions.

There is a past precedent with the US supplying Israel against UN-level sanctions(after the 1967 war).
Isn't a nice thing to do, but it isn't unprecedented.

There is no need for T-90 in North Korea since it produces over 60tonnes main battle tanks.

Russia could just provide full documentation involving RD-33 turbofan engine and perhaps even design fighter jet tailored for DPRK.

It is highly unlikely a full technology transfer of RD-33 technology would happen. They haven't done this even for China with the AL-31. Despite hundreds of engines being sold. At best there could be assembly of the engine from Russian parts kits.
Maybe it would be possible to do technology transfer of the Al-222 or something like that. A smaller engine.

Russia already provided the Al-55 engine to India with transfer of technology for example. So I am fairly certain that engine would be available.

If I remember correctly, India has license to produce RD-33 turbofan engine.
North Korea prefers domestic production as it can maintain equipment.
If nothing else they can turn to Iran to developed comparable or better.

Since Iran has capacity to maintain and produce majority or all CFM-56 parts.
Same engine that was basis for various military low bypass for fighter jets.

Recently the DPRK has posted a video and few interesting things can be observed, despite many of the things getting blurred.

A North Korean Single Piece 125mm APFSDS ammunition with insane L/D ratio, probably comparable to something like the M829A4

but is it confirmed that it is a 125mm caliber?
some sources indicate that it is still 115 mm using one-piece ammunition
40508_rd.png
but definitely the ammo in the photos you showed has one
cartridge case made differently and longer than the one of Soviet/Russian origin.
this suggests that it has a greater propulsive charge and that the North Koreans also had to modify the breechblock of the 115mm gun to receive this munition.
modification necessary even if the gun is the 125mm
