Huawei will release a new S series of smart screens with the latest HarmonyOS on December 21, the first new consumer-facing hardware product after the Beta release of HarmonyOS 2.0 for cell phones, according to .
Huawei will also release a whole-house smart solution and a new smart home strategy at that time, the report said.
On December 16, Huawei released the HarmonyOS 2.0 Developer Beta at its HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer beta event and launched a call for volunteers to test the software publicly.

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi's third-quarter shipments rose 75 percent from the previous quarter, accounting for 13 percent of total global smartphone shipments, leaving it just 1 percentage point shy of Huawei's 14 percent market share, a recent report shows.

Samsung shipped 80.4 million units in the third quarter, a record high for the past three years, according to a report released earlier this month by market research firm . That's up 48 percent from the previous quarter and up 3 percent year-on-year.

Samsung's market share reached 22 percent, returning it to the top spot in the global smartphone market.
Huawei (including Honor) had a 14% share, ranking second. It is worth noting, however, that Honor has now been spun off from Huawei and is targeting 100 million shipments next year.

Oppo, Vivo, Realme and OnePlus should be reclassified as a single company, BBK. It would probably be anywhere around 16% to 20% of the market.

Huawei cell phones, only had Huawei and Honor brands.

Guess those guys had to go double.

Think of that as the car.

Government Motors has the GM pick-up truck, the Buick, and the Cadillac.

Maybe they doing the same thing with the phone. But instead of XYZ-brand best phone, XYZ-brand medium phone, XYZ-brand developing world phone, they give it a separate company name altogether.

So what that single company, has different brand names that would be easier to identify, trying to claim all the space and attention of that segment in the market place.

Someone once told me that marketing dept. is evil.

I was scared when I heard that, and I believe that.
