Labourers in China have finally started getting paid what they deserve and the recognition too. Well that's started around 2010 when their salaries began shooting up. Chinese society just undervalues labourers because it's associated with having no education. While that is relatively true and often due to poor family circumstances, at the very least the financial rewards have become more commensurate with what these people deserve. Unfortunately wages are still rather low due to the huge supply of manual labour. The supply and pace of development also mean many work with less than ideal health and safety conditions. That's definitely something to address despite already massive improvements over the years.
These people not only suffered in their working years, but also in their childhood.
Leaving aside the 100 years of humiliation. Our parents generation suffered some of the worst times in Chinese history, especially if they were in rural areas. Dad still cries when he watches those shows about the 60's and 70's.
It wasn't until 2000's that Chinese lives really started to get better.
Chinese must make it clear to the world what they went through so that they know how much more they are willing to endure.
