Breaking: SMIC has purchased a used ASML litho machine from South Korea.
Link/Source? What's the point/big deal? SMIC can buy litho machine from ASML. Or are you saying it's a EUV machine? If that's the case, who provides the after-sale service?

Guys, this whole talk of 7nm vs 14nm is yesterday's debate.
The future is cloud processing. With 5g, you DON'T need local cpu power anymore. Who cares about 7nm vs 14nm when all your processing is going to happen on a cloud mainframe?
Hi muddie,Probably this:
Sounds like it happened maybe a few months ago but only disclosed it recently.
Don't think that's EUV , is it?Breaking: SMIC has purchased a used ASML litho machine from South Korea.

Hi muddie,
If you read WTAN post, that is the strategy while waiting for the domestic option to go online.
I am almost 130% sure it isn't euv. The US would not allow it. Plus EUV cost 100 milloon dollar. The price quoted was 11 million.Don't think that's EUV , is it?
China just needs 28nm res litho machine for year 2021, this is absolutely 100% certain with SMEE machines. From then on forward the momentum will carry it into 14nm, 7nm nodes by various methods (multi pattern, N+1,+2..) and Newer machines every year, for sure.I am almost 130% sure it isn't euv.
