Following the release of UOS for server V20 Euler version, Chinese operating system developer Union Tech released UOS for server V20 Enterprise Edition (1020) on Monday.
This is an improved version of the UOS V20 released half a year ago, which the company said is fully compatible with Chinese processors including Loongson and those based on ARM and x86 architectures and improves the performance under Linux by as much as 20%.
Union Tech said that this version achieves compatibility with major China-made server processors such as Loongson 3B4000, Kunpeng 920, Phytium 2000+/64, Hygon C86-7185, Zhaoxin KH-30000 series and Shenwei 1621.
It has been successfully deployed and used in many information construction projects in Chinese government and military organizations, public prosecutor and law enforcement systems, banking, insurance, securities, petroleum, electric power and other industries.
This release introduces new features and optimization improvements in terms of product installation and deployment, performance, daily use, and service support to ensure the continued availability and stability of the user's server production environment, and to maximize the potential of the hardware.
In terms of installation and deployment, Union Tech has adjusted the definition and composition of components selected during the installation process for a typical server OS deployment scenario. It also adds configuration items related to network, which simplifies and facilitates the installation and deployment process and reduces the complicated operation of deployment by administrators.
The performance of this version has an overall improvement of about 15-20% over the previous version's performance baseline on UnixBench. In particular, it improves especially on the mips64 architecture Loongson 3B4000 and the arm64 architecture Phytium 2000+/64.
For daily use, the upgrades are as follows.
This release is targeted at the CUI and GUI operating environments of the server operating system respectively, and is designed to identify and optimize the maintenance tools, management applications and system components that are used daily.
Added integration for storing multi-path components
Added open-8-jdk integration.
Increased integration of high availability components for server clusters
Increased server hardware identification range
Enhanced checking conditions for account password strength
Enhanced backup and restore component functionality
Input method framework was updated
Performance optimization of browser applications
