This is forced technology transfer by the Europeans. They are going to steal, cheat and bluff.
Stealing and cheating is the only thing Americans/Europeans understand and it's what they think everyone must be doing, but it's not how things actually work, because at it's core technology is about talent, not asset.

Not that they have any market nor any trustworthiness to bargain for even outdated technology, but it might be fun to see what you can get them do by dangling outdated first gen LFP tech right before China ramps up solid state

Chinese scientists have achieved low-temperature and efficient degradation of "permanent chemicals"

Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances have unique thermal stability, chemical stability, hydrophobicity and oleophobicity due to the strong carbon-fluorine bond in their molecules, and are widely used in chemical, electronic, medical equipment, textile machinery, nuclear industry and other fields.

South Koreans are incredibly hard-working and South Korea has a lot of money to spend on R&D, so they should not be underestimated. That said, time is definitely on China's side. I hope that Xi's successor will continue to pour a large percentage of China's resources into science and technology.
