Joking aside. This is what brain drain is all about. It's what made America great. America is no longer able to drain China so it's focusing on draining India ASAP.

Indians celebrating US CEOs being more Indian than Chinese are missing the point. Every American CEO that is from India is one less CEO caliber person in India.
Before some people start celebrating that brain-drain is only an Indian problem let me give a few facts that will make other nationalities like China pause in their celebrations-

As you can see from the above China and India have among the highest staying rate in America after studies.

The research article below is even more damning.

More Chinese students stay in America than Indians. 90% to 87%.

Both China and India suffer from brain drain. Nothing to celebrate here.

This one is old news bro, it says 2005-2015.

As you can see from the above China and India have among the highest staying rate in America after studies.

The research article below is even more damning.

This second one is the 2000-2015 period, an even older sample.

In the context of the Chinese development pace, that is already ancient history.

China is still in the net outflow of students against the US, but it is much less than before.

Due to various circumstances, scientists and graduates are increasingly returning.

And then here in this article, it suggest another major difference.

Around half of foreign-born workers in the United States whose highest degree was in a science and engineering field are from Asia, with India (22 percent) and China (11 percent) as the leading birthplaces.

I also don't think Indians are showing the same trend of returnee growth.

Also while the total number of Chinese student emigration to the US is slowing and stagnating, Indian is still rising like crazy.

A record number of Indian students are heading abroad — a six-year high of more than 770,000 in 2022, according to the latest education ministry data

And if we are talking about the brain drain in total, then we have to look at the entire world in total, not just the US. This is some fresher data:

Nearly 90% of all Chinese students return home after studying abroad: MOE

Regarding India, I only managed to find this number across the spectrum, some other articles mentioned that 75% don't want to return:

"About 30-35% of Students End Up Returning":

Chinese students abroad stagnating (seen from Caixin data above), whereas Indian numbers are rising like crazy.

Another final point, China also has a total net inflow of scientists unlike India (and even the US):

Also, the enrollment of foreign students in China has increased from 36,000 in 2000 to close to 500k today (India 10 times less than that today, around 50k). Just Google this information - it should pop up, I don't want to overlink it anymore, it is very easy to find and verify.

Also, China is the most popular country in Asia for international students, the leading destination globally for Anglophone African students, and the second most popular education powerhouse in the world.

So not only does it have a net inflow of scientists, but graduates in even bigger numbers. And I don't think that India has all that as well.

Anyways, I'm not affiliated with either India or China, but looking at some objective parameters I could confidently say that India has a worse brain-drain situation than China in the US, and a big-time worse brain-drain situation than China has if we look at the whole world.

: "Chinese-Brazilian cooperation in science and health reaches a new level"

The two countries are going to sign an agreement that creates the Sino-Brazilian Center for Research and Prevention of Infectious Diseases. The announcement of the unprecedented agreement is scheduled for this Thursday, in Beijing.

This is an initiative of Fiocruz and the CAS-TWAS Center of Excellence for Emerging Infectious Diseases (CEEID), through the Institute of Microbiology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz) is the most prominent Institution of Science and Technology in Health in Latin America, based in Brazil.

The center will also develop rapid diagnostic tests, therapies, vaccines and drugs.

Among the diseases that will be studied, some affect both countries, such as Covid-19. Others, such as yellow fever, affect Brazil more, but have attracted Chinese interest.

Brazil and China share the vision of healthcare as public goods, such as vaccines, medicines and diagnostic tests.

The rare animal is the most complete of the Chaoyangopteridae group

The scientific journal Scientific Reports on Thursday (Dec. 21) published an article revealing a new species of pterosaur, the Meilifeilong youhao, which belongs to the Chaoyangopteridae group. It lived in northeastern China during the Cretaceous period. The article was written by 14 Chinese and Brazilian researchers, representing nine institutions.

The species, like all the other members of the group, had no teeth and boasted a wingspan of over two meters. The publication marks 20 years of collaboration between Chinese and Brazilian experts in paleontology.
“It’s been 20 years of a fruitful and productive partnership. We’re happy to be working together, which has greatly contributed to the advancement of paleontology, especially pterosaurs, the first vertebrates to develop the ability to fly,” said researcher Xiaolin Wang, from the Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology, who spearheaded the study.
“We chose to express our friendship in the name of this new species: Meilifeilong: It means beautiful flying dragon, and youhao means friendship,” he said.
Over two decades, the Sino-Brazilian joint effort has produced dozens of papers, resulting in publications in the world’s leading scientific journals, including Science and Nature.

The study, published in Scientific Reports, of the Nature group, brought together 14 researchers from nine institutions: Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleontropology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, National Museum/UFRJ, Sun Yat-Sem University, Federal University of ABC, Jilin University, Shenyang University, Museum of Earth Sciences of Rio de Janeiro, Federal University of Espírito Santo, and Plácido Cidade Nuvens Paleontology Museum (Regional University of Cariri).
